The minister of the Mount Vernon Church of Christ family works to provide teaching and motivation that deepens the church family's understanding of the Bible while helping them apply that teaching to daily living. 

Our minister is Justin Odom.

Justin grew up in Reader, West Virginia, and is married to the former Kristina Deagel of Moundsville, West Virginia. They have three children: Ben (married to Sue Ann) Odom, Jenny Odom, and Hannah (Cody) Todd. Justin and Kristina have one granddaughter, Annabeth. Justin is a 1997 West Virginia School of Preaching graduate with a master’s degree in biblical Studies from Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver. After graduation from WVSOP in 1997, Justin preached for the Pennsville church of Christ in Pennsville, Ohio, then with the Rt. 38 church of Christ in Washington Court House, Ohio. The Odoms moved to work with the church in Fairfield, Illinois, in 2006 and have been working with the Mount Vernon, Illinois, congregation since December 2020. He contributes articles to The Quarterly and New Testament Expositor.
